Shada has always been my favourite classic Doctor Who story. Probably because it it didn’t really exist.

Elements of the serial were recorded, but due to industrial action at the BBC it was never completed.

The story got a video release in the 90s, with Tom Baker linking material replacing the missing scenes.

This version was later issued on DVD, but before that, Big Finish recorded an audio version with Paul McGann as the Doctor.

Some of the footage was used in The Five Doctors in 1983.

At the end of November, the BBC are releasing a brand new version, containing all of the archive footage, and a brand new animation of the missing elements, with many or the original actors (including Tom Baker).
